The X Miami Reinsurance Golf Tournament will take place at the Doral Trump National in Miami on February 11th, 2021.
Unfortunately this year, given the circumstances imposed by COVID 19 organizing an event of the same magnitude as last year is not possible.
The X edition will consist of a 1 course tournament for the Miami market ONLY. Unfortunately we cannot organize a cocktail (Hopefully in 2022!).
The group of (Re) insurance related companies participating this year are: AIG, Allied World, XS Global, AXA XL, Axis, Brickell Underwriting Agency, Chaucer, Helvetia, Hiscox, Kemah Capital, Liberty Mutual, MS Amlin, Partner Re, Patria, QBE, J.S. Held, Sirius, Specialty Lines Underwriters (SLU), Solis Re, Starr Re, Tamesis, Validus Re.
The goal of the event every year is not only to share a nice day of golf with the Latin American and Caribbean markets but also to support the charity Voices for Children. Last year we managed to contribute a $35,000 record.
Despite the challenges this year it is our intention to continue our support and compromise with Voices for Children.
Voices For Children works in collaboration with the Guardian and Litem Program to transform the lives of children in foster care. Together, they develop initiatives designed to most effectively ensure their needs are met and help break the cycle of abuse, abandonment and neglect that is so prevalent in low-income and poverty-stricken communities. A Guardian ad Litem is a specially trained volunteer appointed by the court to protect and advocate for the best interest of a child involved in a court proceeding. They make independent recommendations to the court by focusing on the needs of each child
Miami has become a (re) insurance hub for Latin America. It hosts the regional headquarters of many (re) insurance carriers and brokers and its current capacity for the region rivals that of the Lloyd’s of London. Miami has also become a preferred destination for Latin American clients that go on roadshows given the language capabilities and cultural affinity with the region.
