These past weeks have revealed a continuous series of activities for Advanta. From seminars to internal workshop trainings, company cocktails, and an exciting re-branding moment, this period has marked an active approach to the market through the provision of valuable technical input and industry meetings which altogether aim to cultivate market synergy.

Seminar for the Dutch Caribbean

The Advanta teams in Curaçao and Aruba held their first in-person presentations since the start of the pandemic with clients from across the Dutch Caribbean region.  Hosted by our Directors José Miguel Varela and Maurits Filet from the Miami office, the events (Aruba on May 3rd and Curacao on May 4th) included presentations from Vera Waaijenberg (Laumen Expertise) and Maarten van der Linden (Lindesk) who shared with the audience their experience in the personal injury field and some key insights.

A week of encounters at the Latin American Claims (Re) Insurance Forum

This past June 6th, after two years of pandemic, Advanta Miami held its Annual internal workshop, gathering Miami team together for a series of presentations and discussions on sundry topics. The main addressed subjects were delivered by Sham Jacob (Dubai), who exhibited on “Marine Insurance Adjustment – Opportunities in Latin America”, making use of meetings’ virtual mode, means which promotes a new strategy stage within internal training.

The seminar was accompanied by Tomás Fourcade (Argentina), André Werneck (Brazil), and Oliver Thoma (London), who richly complemented the exposed topics with a presentation on DSU Coverage – Hidro Ituango (practical case and learned lessons).

Lastly, and being an opportune time for its discussion, Advanta’s Rebranding was addressed as one of this session’s topics.  Throughout this phase, each participating director emphasized on the strengths and areas of opportunity, aiming to promote the interaction among offices and the delivery of better services to the different markets.

This workshop was followed by Advanta’s participation in the 2022 Miami Claims (Re) Insurance Forum as loyal sponsors, where a topic on the Construction field – “Surety – Construction Trends in COVID Times” was delivered in part by Advanta’s LatAm Engineering and Construction leader, Gustavo Rodríguez.

The session animated the audience thanks to a debate based on the complexity of typical construction insurance clauses and the depth of the speakers.  Furthermore, Advanta Miami’s 2022 cocktail took place within this same week, proving to be a delightful time for industry participants to reconnect and catch up after two years of pandemic restrictions.
