ALSUM (Latin American Association of Marine Underwriters) and iNLIP (independent Network of Latin American Insurance Professionals) have strengthened their long-standing strategic alliance.
This new boost offers multiple benefits for all insurance professionals interested in the marine industry and in Latin America. In this regard, ALSUM now has its own exclusive section on the iNLIP website where it publishes useful information on conferences, seminars, reports, etc.
In addition, more events related to the maritime sector will be organized and promoted, and significant discounts on event attendance, iNLIP subscriptions, and more will soon be offered.
David Roig, Founder and CEO of iNLIP, commented: “ALSUM‘s growth in recent years has been admirable, highlighting the leading professionals in the marine and cargo insurance industry in Latin America. The strengthening of the ALSUM-iNLIP alliance allows for the sector’s potential, further raising the standards of marine insurance underwriting by leveraging knowledge (information, debate, and training), always taking as a reference the professional practices of the most advanced markets worldwide.”
About ALSUM:
The ALSUM project was consolidated on May 6, 2011, when Gabriel Fábrega, Xavier Pazmiño, Mauricio de la Guardia, Erika Schoch, Fabricio Campos, James García, María Fernanda Alonso, David Goldbaum, Rodrigo Amengual, and Leonardo Umaña met at AIG’s Miami offices and conducted the first strategic planning exercise that led to the drafting of the Association’s bylaws.
The Latin American Association of Marine Underwriters – ALSUM – was conceived as a non-profit foundation, capitalized by national and multinational insurance and reinsurance companies with a presence in Latin America.
ALSUM is an organization dedicated to providing information, training courses, accreditation exams, and discussion forums to the marine insurance underwriting community in Latin America.
Its services also extend to insurance and reinsurance brokers, adjusters, risk managers, lawyers, logistics operators, and, in general, to all companies or professionals interested in the freight transportation, logistics, and insurance business.
About iNLIP:
iNLIP was born in Miami when several regional leaders of the Latin American insurance industry approached David Roig about creating a platform and meeting point for the Latin American insurance industry, not only in Miami, but throughout Latin America.
Until then, Roig had promoted “Insurance Professionals Miami,” creating the blog with the same name and organizing numerous seminars and networking events. Furthermore, while working at an important law firm in Miami as Business Development Director for Latin America and the US, he was one of the founders of the “Miami Latin American Claims (Re) Insurance Forum” an event he organized and directed from its first edition/launch until his departure from the aforementioned law firm.
Since its founding, iNLIP has grown year after year, publishing hundreds of articles and news of interest. Today, it is an international benchmark (in addition to Miami and Latin America, it is followed by market professionals from London, Spain, Africa, China, India, France, Germany, Switzerland, etc.) for the entire insurance industry interested in Latin America. Among other added value, the website is the global reference for information on “Miami (re) Insurance Week” and offers reports, articles, relevant information on important events, insurance-related job offers, and much more.
