IX Latin American Marine Insurance Conference version will be hybrid
The most important Marine Insurance Conference in Latin America
- The maximum annual meeting of Latin American Marine Insurance is organized by ALSUM and brings for almost a decade the main protagonists of Cargo insurance, Hull and maritime responsibilities in the region.
- The conference will take place from 25 to 27 October at the Paradisus Hotel in Punta Cana, which offers large conference rooms with HEPA filters and spacious terraces near the sea, will allow the development of the academic agenda and networking activities in optimal conditions of capacity and ventilation.
- The event will also feature interactive virtual connection, which will allow remote participation of attendees and speakers from anywhere in the world.
For the ninth consecutive year Latin American Association of Marine Underwriters – ALSUM, will hold its regional congress that brings together insurers (re), brokers, risk managers, adjusters, maritime lawyers and cargo and hull insurers from Latin America, about academic, networking and social activities.
This year the conference will be held in a hybrid format; the face-to-face scenario in Punta Cana from 25 to 27 October, will be a boutique event at Paradisus All-Inclusive Resort, with cocktails and lunches in open spaces near the sea and conferences in large halls equipped with HEPA filters, which will ensure strict compliance with biosafety protocols, social-distancing and ventilation. In addition, a golf tournament will be held for the first time as part of social activities.
In the virtual part, which last year allowed ALSUM to gather 500 attendees, there will be networking activities along with live transmission of academic conferences, allowing interaction between attendees and panelists.
“This format will allow us to meet in person in Dominican Republic and interact in a virtual way with participants and speakers, who can connect from any country in the world, thus expanding academic opportunities, commercial spaces and networking activities.” Leonardo Umaña, General Secretary of ALSUM, said.
As usual, the Conference will have a group of world-class speakers: some keynote speakers will be connected remotely from Europe, Asia and North America and others will be present in Punta Cana. Academic agenda will be nourished of technical topics of Cargo and Hull underwriting, Impact of the market hardening and challenges 2022; balance and prospective of the Covid-19 effect; trends in accidents, CyberRisk and Insurtech; road map of Sustainability (ESG); leveraged operational efficiency in technology; transformation of insurers into service providers and senior management marine workshops, among other academic fronts. Simultaneous English-Spanish-English translation will be offered during the conferences.
As always, ALSUM affiliates will have discounts of up to 50% on registration and accommodation, plus they will have free access to the virtual connection (limited seats); while non-members will be able to benefit from the early bird rates until June 30 (10% discount).
