News about Lloyd’s in Latin America
Lloyd’s will set up an office in Miami to support and grow the Latin American and Caribbean
Dear Insurance Professionals Latin America / iNLIP´s friends:
I would like to share with you some exciting news about Lloyd’s in Latin America.
As you know Latin America is a key market for Lloyd’s, with premium close to USD 1.5 billion. The Lloyd’s Corporation has offices in Brazil, Colombia and Mexico, and there are more than a dozen service companies and coverholders servicing the Latin American and Caribbean markets from Miami.
In order to strengthen our presence in the Latin American and Caribbean markets, we will implement a few changes to our set up in the region:
- I am pleased to announce that Yelhis Hernández will be appointed Mexico Country Manager (subject to regulatory approval). Yelhis has been with Lloyd’s for almost two years and has been instrumental in supporting market development across the Latin American region based in Mexico City.
- Following Juan Carlos Realphe’s decision to leave Lloyd’s, we will start recruitment for a new Colombia Country Manager and will expand the role to increase market development activity across Spanish speaking South America.
- Valdir Serra will be strengthening the Latin America market development effort. He has been with Lloyd’s for 8 years and is currently the Market Development Executive and Analyst for Brazil
- We will set up an office in Miami to support and grow the Latin American and Caribbean markets alongside other market participants. I will continue leading the Lloyd’s team across the region from the new office.
I would like to thank you for your continued backing, and I am sure these changes will allow us to more effectively support the Lloyd’s market development in the region.
