A big thank you to the more than 35 volunteers and members who joined the RE40’s for the Beach Clean Up at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Nature Center in Key Biscayne this past Saturday. It was amazing to see colleagues, friends and families come together for an important cause for our local community!
An additional thank you to Chaucer for the coffee and donuts that was provided to all volunteers to help us with the early start!
As we learned during the lecture given at the Nature Center, the cleaning efforts made that day create a real impact on the health of the oceans, beaches, wildlife, and the community.
The Marjory Stoneman Douglas Nature Center (https://biscaynenaturecenter.org/) a vital hub for environmental education, conservation, and outdoor recreation. Named after the environmentalist Marjory Stoneman Douglas, the center is dedicated to preserving and protecting the natural beauty of the area. The nonprofit also offers educational programs, guided nature walks, and hands on experiences for visitors of all ages: from exploring the mangroves forests, learning about marine wildlife, and helping organize beach clean-up efforts.
