Juan Carlos Realphe has more than 30 year of experience in the insurance market.
Victoria Bejarano has decided to retire to dedicate time to her personal projects. She will continue in Zurich as Chair of the Board of Directors.
Juan Carlos Realphe will assume as CEO of Zurich Colombia on October 15, 2019, after Victoria Bejarano decided to retire to dedicate time to her personal projects. After a long and successful career, Victoria has decided to step down from her current role as CEO as of October 15, 2019.
She will remain, however, with us as Chair of the Board of Directors of Zurich Colombia Seguros S.A., providing advice and support to the overall development of our business in the country. “I would like to thank and acknowledge Victoria for her leadership and commitment to Zurich since our arrival in Colombia back in late 2014. During this time, we were able to build our business as well as a solid brand positioning in a complete new country for our organization”, said Claudia Dill, CEO Latin America and Member of the Group Executive Committee.
“Juan Carlos’ experience and knowledge will allow us to continue building our business in Colombia bearing in mind our long-term ambition of becoming a customer-centric insurer of choice in the market”. Realphe has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance market. His latest role was as General Representative & Country Manager for Lloyd’s in Colombia.
He has held several leadership positions at Willis Colombia Corredores de Seguros and as Vice-President, Non-Life, at Mapfre Seguros Generales de Colombia for eight years, were he joined in 2001 as Head of Property. Prior to that, he held different roles at Aseguradora Colseguros, from Allianz Group.
Realphe is an Insurance Administrator Technologist and Business Administrator from Politécnico Grancolombiano Institución Universitaria.
Additionally, he has a Graduate Certification on Management Development from Universidad de La Sabana, Colombia and a Specialization on Improvement of Directive Management from Universidad Alcalá de Henares, Spain. “It has been a great pleasure leading this organization since its beginning in the country. We have developed talented people, brand and business. I am confident that Zurich Colombia will continue going through this journey that we have started back in 2014”, mentioned Bejarano. “I am very enthusiastic about this new challenge as well as for leading a company of Zurich ́s prestige. We will work closely with the team to continue positioning Zurich Colombia in the local insurance market as we continue to prepare ourselves for the next steps in the country”, expressed Realphe.
