“Transición energética: nuevos riesgos y análisis de siniestros” (Spanish)
ADVANTA & LEARISK announced its third Breakfast and Forum. It will be held on February 13th, 2024, occurrence which has been held successfully within the 2020 and 2023 Miami (re) Insurance Week editions.
This time, the forum, which addresses Underwriters, Brokers, Risk Managers, and Claims Executives, will revolve around “Energy Transition; New Risks and Losses Analysis”. The format of this gathering will continue building on a presentation of relevant aspects on the main topic, led by ADVANTA and LEARISK, who will continuedly give way to a debate among attendees.

Gustavo Rodríguez: Experienced Engineer and Technical Lines Adjuster, current services coordinator for USA. Gustavo frequently conducts studies on losses related to the construction of generating facilities, transmission, and energy storage. Gustavo remarks “Energy Transition requires the implementation of new technologies and construction codes, which are to be analyzed in light of the coverages offered by current policies”.

José Miguel Varela: Energy Adjuster and ADVANTA Regional Director, José Miguel leads the team of experts in the study of power generation losses, in both, thermal and renewables sources. José states “The dynamic of the transition in energy generating sources has acquired an accelerated pace in recent years, which signifies a challenge to the Insurance markets, especially in such a complex region”.

Tomás Fourcade: Adjuster and Director of ADVANTA Southern Cone, Tomás sets the lead in studies of big and complex losses, especially relative to generating facilities of renewable energies, given his wide experience in the whole continent. Tomás mentions “Energy transition is a recurring topic which, in spite of having been addressed quite often in previous forums, still needs to be discussed within the adjusting of new policy texts”.

Gustavo Spinetta: Proficient Analyst of Major Risks and LATAM Director at LEARISK. Guest speaker in diverse Insurance conferences in the region, due to his record in the assessment of industrial risks, especially in energy and construction. Gustavo highlights “The upcoming twenty years will carry intense changes in technology, which will bring about big investments with a direct impact in its Insurability.”.
