The opportunity: The Brit Insurance Miami office is looking for an underwriting assistant to be part of the casualty and financial lines treaty and facultative team. The Underwriting Assistant will contribute to the management of new and renewal accounts by processing and facilitating various administrative underwriting functions in support of the local underwriting teams. The role will involve comprehensive underwriting support such as; inputting and interpreting premium and loss data, reconciling figures, technical processing, policy administration, mid-term adjustments, pursuing supporting risk documentation, organizing electronic records among many other tasks.
Who are we looking for: Sound working knowledge of the commercial insurance market and practices, ideally with the knowledge of the relevant class of business and region. Experience in understanding and preparing complex data and reconciling payments. Basic commercial awareness, with a knowledge of the insurance market and external changes which would impact on our business. Excellent numeric, analytical and written skills. Excellent prioritization and organizational skills. Very good communication skills, both written and oral in English and Spanish. Very good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience of working within a commercial office environment ideally within insurance.
